How it works.
Etherstocks has no backend that matters. A call is one ordinary token transaction on Robinhood Chain. This site only reads those transactions and lays them out; anyone can rebuild the whole tape from the chain.
The chain
- Robinhood Chain, chain id
4663, gas paid in ETH. - RPC
https://rpc.mainnet.chain.robinhood.com - Explorer robinhoodchain.blockscout.com
- 187 Robinhood stock tokens, each an ERC-20 with its own page here.
Anatomy of a call
A call is transfer(0x…dEaD, amount) on the $ESTOCKS contract, with a short memo appended after the normal arguments. ERC-20 contracts ignore trailing calldata, so the transfer behaves exactly like any other burn — the memo just rides along in the transaction input, permanently.
The memo is the bytes 0x4553544b01 (“ESTK” + version 1) followed by UTF-8 JSON:
m— the words, up to 280 bytest— a stock symbol from the Robinhood list, e.g.NVDAs—bullorbearn— a name being claimedr— the transaction hash being echoed
Example memo for a bull call on NVDA: 0x4553544b017b226d223a224461746163656e7465722063617065782069736e277420736c6f77696e672e222c2274223a224e564441222c2273223a2262756c6c227d
One transaction, no approvals, nothing held by any contract. Calls sent from a plain wallet (an EOA) are decoded; burns relayed through other contracts still count toward the burn total but carry no words.
Sizes
- 1,000+ $ESTOCKS — a line: one row on the tape.
- 10,000+ $ESTOCKS — a card: set large, on the tape and the stock's page.
- 100,000+ $ESTOCKS — a banner: lit up, top of the stock's page for 7 days.
Anything under 1,000 still burns, but doesn't print. The bull/bear scale on each stock is weighted by amount burned.
Names & echoes
Burn at least 1,000 $ESTOCKS with an n field to claim a name: 3–20 characters, lowercase letters, digits and dashes. The first valid claim wins; your newest winning name shows on your calls.
An echo is a call with an r field pointing at another call. It prints on the tape and under the call it answers.
Verify it yourself
Pull every Transfer(from, 0x…dEaD, value) log from the $ESTOCKS contract, fetch each transaction's input, and decode whatever follows the first 68 bytes. That's the whole indexer. Stock prices come from the deepest Robinhood Chain pool for each token; portfolio balances are read live with one multicall.
Addresses
Risks
- Burns are irreversible. There is no undo, no refund, no moderation.
- $ESTOCKS is a volatile token. Nothing here is investment advice, and calls on the tape aren't either.
- Stock tokens are issued by Robinhood and may not be available where you live. Etherstocks only reads them and isn't affiliated with Robinhood.
- Words on the tape are public forever. Don't post anything you wouldn't want permanently attached to your wallet.
